Lumut Port was established as a State Port with a pivotal role in driving economic growth, fostering development, and advancing industrialization within both the state of Perak and the broader nation. Lumut Port has been functioning since July 24, 1995, more than 25 years after its official opening. Lekir Bulk Terminal was managed and run by Lumut Port in 2002.
